Enciclopedic definition of collyrium

Farmaceutical substance in solution (water, oil) or suspension used in oculistic therapies instillating drops on the eye or cornea. The term is generic: it is therefore necessary to define the eye disturbance that needs to be cured in order to somministrate the most proper product. It has to be sterile; for this reason disposable packages are used, containing one or two drops. An open bottle should not be used for a long time even if the expiry date is far in the future. The bio availbility is limited to the bried duration of the medicine in the area of action and the progressive dilution caused by natural tears, anyway some eyewashes need to be used with care because of possible collateral effects on the cardiovascular system.

Albinism is normally accompanied by eyesight flaws: astimatigism, nystagmus, hypermetropia, myopia, colour blindness, crystal malformation; sensitivity to sunlight and predisposition to skin neoplasia. Who is affected should use precautions like sunglasses and sunblocks when exposing oneself to the sun.
